Claudiu Barbos is the Director of Investments & Trading at Altium Investment Strategies ("Altium"), where he leads the firm's investment operations with a focus on implementing advanced strategies and managing sophisticated financial instruments. With over two decades of institutional expertise, Claudiu ensures that Altium's investment solutions are executed seamlessly, empowering financial intermediaries to deliver superior outcomes for their clients. 

Before joining Altium, Claudiu served as Director of Investments & Trading at Ashton Thomas Private Wealth, where he led a six-person team responsible for all aspects of trading operations, as well as due diligence on alternative investments and structured products. In this capacity, he improved the firm's trading processes—from execution to reconciliation—by implementing rigorous protocols and strategic frameworks, while also broadening the range of investment options available to advisors. Additionally, he served on the Investment Committee and Asset Allocation Team, where he played a pivotal role in shaping investment strategies and driving key decisions. 

During his tenure at Ashton Thomas, Claudiu successfully scaled trading operations to meet the demands of the firm's rapid growth, efficiently managing higher trading volumes as assets under management increased significantly. His leadership prioritized operational excellence and fostered close collaboration with compliance teams to uphold regulatory standards and ensure the integrity of trading processes. His deep expertise in financial markets and disciplined approach enhanced Ashton Thomas's ability to deliver advanced investment solutions to advisors and their clients. 

Claudiu began his career at Vanguard, where he was a Senior Fixed Income Trader and an inaugural member of the Fixed Income Special Transactions team. In these roles, he honed his expertise in trading complex financial instruments and constructing customized fixed-income solutions for sophisticated investors, with a focus on tax efficiency and complex cash flow requirements. After his extensive tenure at Vanguard, Claudiu held a senior trading role at Voya Financial, where he managed portfolios across diverse market sectors and played a key role in shaping the firm's asset allocation strategies. These experiences provided the foundation for the institutional expertise Claudiu brings to his role at Altium today, equipping him to navigate complexity and deliver superior outcomes for clients. 

Born in Romania, Claudiu earned a bachelor's degree in finance with a minor in economics from Arizona State University.
